Kohe Noor was founded with a simple vision — to share the true taste of Afghan cuisine with the Vacaville community. Inspired by generations of family recipes and cultural traditions, our restaurant was created to bring people together over flavorful, comforting meals. From the way we prepare our food to the way we greet every guest, our focus is on creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels at home. We are proud to represent our heritage through every plate we serve.
Our menu reflects centuries of Afghan culinary tradition. We carefully prepare kabobs, rice platters, and signature dishes like Qabuli Pulao using time-honored cooking methods and aromatic spice blends. Each ingredient is selected with attention to quality, from premium halal meats to fragrant rice and fresh vegetables. We believe authentic flavor cannot be rushed, which is why our dishes are prepared fresh daily with patience and care. Every bite is designed to deliver balance, richness, and the bold flavors that define Afghan cuisine.
What makes Kohe Noor unique is our combination of a full-service Afghan restaurant and a trusted halal market in one convenient location. Guests can enjoy freshly prepared meals and also shop for halal meats, specialty rice, spices, sweets, and grocery essentials. Many of the ingredients used in our kitchen are available in our market, allowing families to recreate authentic Afghan dishes at home. This complete experience makes us more than just a restaurant — we are a cultural hub serving quality, tradition, and convenience to the Vacaville community.

Loved the lamb shank, eggplant appetizer and the lentil soup. All of it was great but those were our favs. The owners were so nice and gave us some baklava, my mom's favorite. So happy to have another go to spot. Next time we will shop. Via NicoleTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are from San Diego visiting family for a few days. We happened to drop by Kohe Noor Restaurant for lunch. Oh wow, the food was delicious 😋. We ordered the Baloni (potato, and leeks), Chicken/Beef Teka Kabobs, and the Chapli Kabob. The Chicken kabobs were tender, not dry, and well seasoned. The two types of stuffed flatbread (potato and leeks) were the best I have ever eaten. Also we were provided with great service from the staff. Her name is Sahar. Inside the old post office, there is a meat counter, a grocery store, and a restaurant. The restaurant is small but separated from the other room so it seems private and cozy. It is well decorated and service was exceptional. We started out with Bolani which is a delicious flat bread stuffed with butternut squash, leeks, or potato. It comes with three sauces, a spicy red sauce, a sweeter green sauce, and a creamy white sauce. All of us loved this dish! For a starter, we were served a bowl of green lentil soup and a shareable salad. The salad contained lettuce, cucumbers, onion, and was served with a white dressing and was really fresh and tasty. For the main course, we ordered a chicken plate, a chicken kebab plate, and a vegetarian dish. I think it was squash with a sauce over it. They all came with rice and we tried both the brown and the white rice. The brown rice had shredded carrots and raisins in it, and it was really delicious. All the food was well spiced, beautifully presented, totally delicious. The prices are great, and the servings were huge. We brought home enough for dinner too. We will definitely be back!
